About Me
I'm a 42 yr old mom who is on a quest to improve my health and fitness level. I've been very sedentary most of my adult life and am working hard to change that.
I topped the scale at 135lbs and am only 4'11" tall. My waist hit 35 inches and I suddenly realized that I really need to be proactive to remain healthy. I had been taking my health for granted up until this point in my life.

Update: I'm now a month shy of 44. Still working on improving my health and fitness. It is a lifetime journey that I embark on. I love to run. I went through a dry phase for about 6 months where I didn't run at all but I am now back, and it's exciting and exhausting. Running my first 10K this summer.

Greensboro Events Resources
I just realized that I really do have several resources for events around here and want to consolidate them all in one place. Plus if other local BeeWell'ers find me then my resources may help them find local events.
I personally run so my resources do revolve around running races, though they seem to list triathlons as well.

Today's challenge 6/15
I've gotta hand it out to beewellforlife today. I loved the challenge to make a buddy. I talked to 4 amazing ordinary people today through here and it really got me to searching on how I can better customize this site for my personal use. I started just because someone mentioned to me that I can donate to breast cancer research just for logging my runs. Then I really enjoyed watching my own progress. I absolutely love to view my logs. I am now interested in reading the progress of others and it helps push me along in my own progress. This latest challenge has gotten me excited to come to beewellforlife.com every day and of course I feel bad if I don't log miles when I'm on the site anyways.
I'm still not logging miles every day but I am interested in the progress of all the other loggers on the site.
Thanks so much for providing this tool which I know will grow as I progress.

Vamping it up for 2010
I've been learning my way around beewellmiles.com the past couple of days and have decided that this is where I want to start journaling my walking/running.
I currently run about 11 miles a week but want to work myself up to a 3 mile per day run with sundays off. I've been toying with training for a marathon but just not there yet. Really want to build my endurance base more.
I started running the end of June 2009. I entered a 2 mile fun run/walk with some online friends and have been at it since. I've had my slow times but have stayed pretty consistent with running 3 days a week.
I am planning on signing up for a half marathon on March 20th. I'm pretty confident that I'll be able to do that without any major issues. I have 3 months to train.
This year I need to pick up my tracking my work outs. I've gotten lax for my 2009 tracking but I don't feel too bad as it is my first year of physical fitness. I feel that I have had some major success.
I went from a complete couch potato of 42 yrs old to someone who exercises 6 days a week without fail at least 30 min's each day at 43 :)
Now to work on my diet. I'm horrible with the processed foods. I hate to cook and have a block when it comes to preparing and making myself eat healthy.
